Out and About - Cardiff Blogging ....

I can't actually remember the last time it didn't rain. As I type it's tipping down. Living on a boat it's easy to tell as the pitter patter on the deck above can be deafening, I sometimes have to turn up the volume on, not only the telly, but my own voice to be heard over the din. Strangely, I love it!

There was a break in the cloud at lunch time so John and I decided to make a break for it to go up to the village for lunch. I was craving a burger and the Ocho Lounge satisfied it nicely. After, we decided to take a stroll through Windsor Arcade, one of Penarth's Victorian remnants which, to this day, feels like stepping back in time ....

At the end of the arcade is the Celtic Lounge.
They had coffee, they had cake, enough said, we were in!

I rather like that last picture!
What did you do today?

  4. OMG, that Coronation issue of Dandy (and only tuppence!!!) in the window - I'm blown away and feeling all homesick again. You're too young, but I remember that fabulous Coronation Day so well....and the sun was actually shining in Torquay for the huge neighborhood block party!
The cakes - I would almost kill for a slice of the Victoria sponge, and double layer too, but then the coffee and walnut - haven't had any for years and years!
Great pics dear - love hubby's very Western looking outfit for the rain - but hope by now it's stopped and the sun is out.
    Hugs - Mary

    1. Hi Mary,
"Tuppence" tee hee! Lovely memories. Sorry to make you homesick. I feel the same, shops like this make me homesick for the 1950s :-)
Life was so much simpler, no technology, as much as I like it I sometimes miss the times when we had to make our own fun.
      Happy Days!

  7. GOOD MORNING DI!

Late again, but I think you understand how hard it is sometimes to get to the computer!

Do I tell you again what I always say, but with the most sincerity? YOUR PHOTOS ARE OUTRAGEOUSLY WONDERFUL! You mentioned once you had purchased a special lens....well if it's the lens, then maybe there's hope for me to capture objects and places as such one day, but the vivid color and clarity is astounding. And your subject matter....CHARMING!

    Big hugs dear friend. Anita

  8. I also love the sound of the rain ... on a roof, awning, window. Not so the other half of the family.

Your photos always tell such wonderful stories. Makes me wish I were there!

  11. Today was my first day out since spraining my ankle on Christmas Day. We went to the Saturday Farmers Market followed by a short stint at the beach to catch up on some sun time. It was a nice relaxing day. I guess I really should blog about it, eh? LOVE the
